Presentations

Every semester our interns present their work in Student Research Talks at GMU. Additionally, they present at other locations both on and off campus:

  1. Austin Alderete, James Chiriaco, Mezel Smith presented a poster at Geometry Labs United 2015 Conference on their research in convex and combinatorial geometry. They won first prize.
  2. Patrick Bishop, Mary Leskovec, Vishal Mummareddy, Tim Reid presented a poster at Geometry Labs United 2015 Conference on their research in special words in free groups. They won a prize.
  3. Patrick Brown, Jermain McDermott presented a poster at Geometry Labs United 2015 Conference on their research in dynamics over field points of varieties. They won a prize.
  4. Jack Love presented an outreach demonstration at Geometry Labs United 2015 Conference.
  5. Stephanie Mui presented a poster at the 2016 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (IISEF) on her work on embedding geometric surfaces in 3D. At the IISEF in Arizona she won the first place award of $2000 from American Mathematics Society.
  6. Patrick Bishop, Mary Leskovec, Tim Reid presented a poster at the College of Science Undergraduate Research Colloquium at GMU on their work on special words in free groups.
  7. Austin Alderete, Mark Tuben, Shams Alyusof presented a poster at the College of Science Undergraduate Research Colloquium at GMU on their work on convex and combinatorial geometry.
  8. Harout Boujakjian, Conor Nelson, Kathleen McLane presented a poster at the College of Science Undergraduate Research Colloquium at GMU on their work on the Allen Cahn fractional differential equation.
  9. Stephanie Mui presented a poster at the College of Science Undergraduate Research Colloquium at GMU on her work on visualizing geometric surfaces.
  10. Stephanie Mui gave a 20 minute talk at the Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium, Saturday, October 15, 2016 University of Illinois at Chicago.
  11. Ethan Rarity presented his research at the AMS Maine Sectional, September 24-25, 2016. Here are his slides: Slides
  12. Tim Reid presented his research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and also at the OSCAR research showcase at GMU where he won an excellence award for his project.
